I sent my missus to meet @TTony at a car park once for a guitar purchase. Now that could’ve ended up a nightmare they could’ve been a right nasty scamming piece of work.. but my wife is a nice person so Tony was safe

Thing is are you a decent person? You’re not the only one. Yes you have to be vigilant but you’re not turning up with £2k in cash are you.

Although it won't give you a complete picture of the bike, I'd ask him to take you for a spin as a pillion. It may at least help iron out some obvious faults.

...or you could pilot with him on the back...

I bought it. I'm going to collect it on Sunday. My very large bodybuilder mate is coming with me and he's riding it back as I think it's unwise for me to get back in the saddle after 30 years with a 3h+ ride.

Maybe he should wait in the car during the transaction so it doesn't all look too obviously intimidating.

& now back to our outside Broadcast unit for live footage of the thrilling police chase that is unfolding , Police interceptor units from the Welsh & Liverpool Constabulary are in hot pursuit of an unknown Motorcyclist who failed to stop for an officer of the Welsh constabulary & has now been pursued for 4 hours evading officers with an amazing array of riding skills .

The rider has become a firm favourite with the public who are turning out in droves to see him when reports of him in their area are recieved . . . .

Nooo.... I'm driving the two of us up in the Civic, check the bike out, pay the man. I drive the Civic home, Mr Universe rides my new bike home. I get all the gear, get some refresher training under my belt then the day after, get squished by a lorry on the M4.

Omg I loved this film . First saw it around 15 yrs old when the copper shouts come here to the lad who parked his bike on the road & he steps off the balcony of the high rise flats

Yes! But I'm not home yet! I've just dropped my mate back at his place and have an hour to drive home again now.

As for my concern about the seller being possibly dodgy.... I was signing paperwork with a pen I had from work, with the police logo on. He spotted this and asked me if I'd ever worked for them. I told him I was currently in their employ, at which point he produced his police badge! I was buying the bike off a copper!
