Paul Van Technocaster
Ok, so by way of a bit of festive show and tell here's my old girl.
She started life as a USA Strat and has mutated over the years. First I stripped the red body back to natural wood and applied a liberal coat of furniture wax to the body. I also scalloped the top two frets on the old neck, not shown.
After that I had piezo bridge saddles put in, Dimarzio pickups and a Roland GK2 midi pickup added.
After that, inspired by the Eddie Van Halen Musicman of the day, I went a bit mad and fitted a Walmoth AAA birdseye maple neck which is unfinished except for light and regular oiling. She has stainless steel frets, locking vintage tuners with a compensated nut and I had a local luthier cut the headstock to match that of a PRS.
Anyway, not looking to sell or anything, just sharing
