Bigsbys are awesome on Gretches, Telecasters, Les Pauls and ES335s (and associated family) and awful on everything else.

Bigsbys are for Gretsch only (and the Gibson Johnny-A), vile elsewhere.

So.......can I conclude from the assembled throng of contributors above that it's OK for me not to like Bigsbys and to say so publicly?

... all of which are perjorative terms for people who might just politely disagree.

honestly - Bigsby fans like Bigsbys - that doesn't make them haters of anything else.

It might be possible for Bigsby fans to be haters of something else but there's no rule that they've got to be both.

If you don't like a Bigsby - all the more for the rest of us who do... make a habit of saying it and that kinda makes you a hater ;)

"Hate" that's a strong expression, I "hate" very little, I'm an easy going bod, with eclectic taste and a tolerant nature. (Sorry still looking for a suitable emoticon!)

    EDIT found one

Anything you feel the need to express frequently isn't a mild emotion ;)

Haters is a term - I'm looking for the right image to convey this...

I like Bigsbys, though I have never owned a guitar equipped with one.

Actually not a Bigsby... the spring on the original was probably an Indian motorcycle clutch pedal spring, according to someone I know who is into vintage Indian motorcycles. Paul Bigsby worked for Crocker Motorcycles which was an offshoot of Indian, before he went into the musical instrument business.
