I finally got round to reinstalling the humbuckers in my PRS tremonti SE over the weekend. I had actually screwed them in and fed the wires through ages ago, but I didn't have my soldering iron to hand. To make sure I connected the right pickup to the right volume control, I stuck a bit of masking tape on the neck pickup and on the neck pickup wire so I knew which was which when I finally got round to soldering them in.

I think you can guess what happened next...

    Don't worry, we all have moments of extreme stupidity, at least, I do and it seems to get worse as I get older. Far from getting wiser, I seem to be becoming dumber.

    I remember wiring up a whole set of new UPS boxes in a small computer lab we had.
    Two week later we had a major power fault. Had a quick look in the room saw the LED on the monitors
    were on an walked away thinking all is ok. Power should last a few hours which it did.

    But I'd managed to plug all of the monitors into the UPS systems and the servers into the normal wall sockets.

    Hey, at least the damage is reversable, unlike the time when I went to pick up a screwdriver and whilst bringing it towards the screw I was screwing in I manged to catch the tip of it on the guitar body and put an inch long gouge into an otherwise immaculate finish.  #-o
