I was never a fan of that style of music, but I thought that they were a class act all the same, and he was a lovely guy whenever I saw him in interviews. RIP Errol

There was a part of my childhood when Hot Chocolate seemed to be on Top of The Pops every week.

I must admit - I was shocked he was 71 - but still not a great age these days.

As @Grunfield pointed out, the 'Every One's a Winner' riff was fantastic.

    RIP Errol.

I was taken to Caesar's Palace in Luton in the 1970's by a group of friends and Hot Chocolate were playing .. didn't expect much but boy was I wrong. Really tight band and Errol had a great voice and was a perfect front man. They did their hits and some Motown and James Brown. RIP Errol.

I also saw the Drifters and they were shit hot .. amazing vocal harmonies and a great band.
