Is an Afghan rug essential for home guitar toanz?

After dealing with a long list of first world problems following the purchase of my new house, I can finally start planning the finer details of my man-isolation-station.  

I have carpet in there. But should I rug that shit up or what?

    The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch.     Especially not for rugs.

    Individually threading each strand through the backing material is the most demanding IKEA build I've ever undertaken.
