    Wow, that's jaw dropping :P

What narks me is the bright white volume and tone controls. Those need to be aged plastic, I'm just not buying it :P

And the wear mark above the position on the middle pick up as well? I have a few small marks around the jack socket of my SG, after trying to find it several times in the dark over the last sixteen years. But I can't imagine wear like that around a jack socket, unless I got absolutely slaughtered every single time I played guitar???
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

You really have to wonder what goes through some peoples heads, and seriously, he wants to swap a destroyed and raped copy Fender for a real Gibson 335, is this person touched or something?  How are they allowed out without a carer or supervision, yet alone near a computer.

Hahaha!  How would you get that amount of wear around the input jack unless you were furiously stabbing the guitar body with your guitar cable.

As is sometimes my want, I've emailed him this thread.
Hopefully he can join and we can discuss his reasoning for doing what he did in a calm and thoughtful manner.

I don't think a guitar jack plug could ever do that much damage.
Furiously stabbing it in a frenzied attack with a chisel might do it.

Yes, but how do you explain the gouging directly above the neck pickup?

Using the guitar as a shield against an exploding I.E.D.?  Maybe the guitar is a war vet just back from Helmand or something.  If I was interested in it I'd want to check the serial number just in case it had been awarded a Victoria Cross for suffering such horrific injuries while saving the life of a squadie or something.

  • I'm not a fan of relics but if this one didn't have fender knobs on it I would actually be interested in it.

You could always change the knobs.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.
