Tolex (again): What glue?

Hi - I've just finished a 5E3 variant and have a cab that I need to cover. I've got the tolex but was wondering what glue to use. Last time I did one I used white PVA and, to be honest, it was rubbish. No adhesion and took ages to dry. Everything mentioned on the USA websites doesn't seem to be sold over here?

So, what glue is best to use, that's easy to get in the UK?

Also, any good You Tube tutorials or websites on how to cover cabs? I did an OK job on my last project but fancy doing a bit better this time.

No worries.

Spread it with an old credit card, and disposable glue brushes for the fiddly bits. It's about £8 for a 500ml tin in B&Q.

Tolex the outside, that would test the glue! and it would look cool

You jest but there were plenty of VC10's and Tristars that were trimmed in similar materials. I used to run a bay at Brize Norton that did just that.

Actually we used to use Evostik 528 for formica as its quite thick. For tolex and lighter materials we used to use Evostik 613. We got a highly professional finish every time with this, quite important when we were dealing with VIP aircraft:

I trust 1\2 litre is enough for your needs. We used 5 litre tins like they were going out of fashion. Works out a hell of a lot cheaper, mind.

I have used pva extensively. I also use a hot air gun to dry out the glue on the edges which then turns it into contact adhesive. The heat helps when moulding the corners makes the tolex more stretchy.
