The music clubs near Church Street Station. They are themed bars really, blues, rock, country, jazz etc.

Great place to eat and watch a great band.

The cowgirl waitresses in the country place are worth the trip, as are the can can girls in the Paris themed place.

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

  • Hire a car and drive down all the way to Key West. Worth it just for Hemmingway's six toed cats and great sea food restaurants.

Naples is lovely - a sunset off the end of its wooden pier is quite a site to behold.

Florida is massive mate, really depends on how far you wanna drive

For me highlights were Nasa, Cocoa Beach, and stuff like that. I've no interest in guitars so never iend went in any of the shops despite see'ing loads.

If it's specifically guitar shops you're interested in, then the only one I know is 'Guitar Center'.

If it's other attractions, then there's shedloads of stuff around there, and driving is a piece of piss, Kennedy Space Center is definitely worth a visit for example.

There is a big Guitar Center in Orlando.  It's only about 5 minutes drive from one of the big shopping malls.  I dropped my wife and her sisters off at the mall and went to look at guitars and pedals.  (If you can bear the shopping malls you can pick up clothes really cheaply).

There is another really good shop called George's Music.  They are really nice guys in there, and have the advantage of not being Guitar Center.

On the non-guitar front, we went for an airboat ride which was good fun.  If you like cars the the Saturday night cruise in Kissimmee is good.

Agreed on George's, much better than Guitar Centre.

For other stuff to do: Sea World, NASA at Cape Canaveral, Daytona Beach, St Pete's, an airboat ride. All good. If you want to do a theme park, Busch Gardens is worth the trip.

Unless you have kids or like the idea of hours of queueing and overpriced food, steer well clear of Disney and Universal. The dinner shows like Arabian Nights are also appalling, don't be tempted.

Definitely the Kissimmee cruise, as a petrolhead, I loved that one.

Check to see if anyone's playing at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney, I was lucky enough to catch Queensryche there a while back. Reasonably priced tickets, and parking is a doddle, well recommended.

Busch Gardens at Tampa - another vote from me.

Pretty much ANY theme park, although I preferred Islands of Adventure and Universal.

    Wet N Wild is great.

    Ripley's 'Believe it or not'

Shit, there's so much stuff to do!

  • George's Music located in a side street opposite Wet'n'Wild on I Drive. Great service and very friendly. They've got lots of gear at Guitar Center but don't expect the staff to know anything about it! If you are after something specific that's out of stock you can order it online and get it shipped there in about 4 days. Again don't expect the Guitar Center staff to help you with this. Otherwise my faves were Kennedy Space Center combined with an air-boat ride at Midway (you can hold a gator and pet their pig!) Avoid Boggy Creek. Went there 10 years ago and it was like something out of Deliverance!  Have a great time. :D

Kennedy Space Centre is worth a visit.

Rent a car. It's cheap, petrol is incredibly cheap, and everything is really spread out so you really need to be able to drive to get anywhere.

We went jet ski-ing on a private lake as well and it was a blast.

    KSC and Gatorland.

    Airboat ride on the Everglades.

If you are a petrol head, Daytona Beach, but it's a bit like Southend!

Its now incredibly expensive too. I drove all the way there from Davenport and turned around when i saw the price. They upped the price last year
