Is it considered bad form to Bigsby a Les Paul? Gasp.
as far as I am concerned YES!
Considering that two of the greatest sounding Les Pauls ever have Bigsbys - Jimmy Page's Custom and Neil Young's Old Black - then clearly NO.

Although to be fair Page's Custom was built like that, I think.

  • and Neil Young is no example of either tone or technique
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

Sadly had to sell but this was one of the best guitars I've owned.

    [Black SG Custom]

The guitarist in my band had a similar one, although without the Maestro and with a small pickguard. Absolutely great-sounding thing, especially the 'middle' position. Sadly he couldn't get on with the balance of it - it hurt his shoulder. He now has a 3-pickup Les Paul Custom which weighs 50% more but which is much more comfortable. It sounds good too, but I preferred the SG.

I didn't use the trem but the extra weight helped with the balance. The toggle blend pot was a thing of sonic beauty. Gibson really should utilise it more. Hopefully one day I'll be able to buy another. I've seen some identical to my old one without trem that id prefer but really that blend toggle switch made it, especially with the coil taps.

    Agreed 100%

Les Paul's with a Bigsby B7 are a thing of beauty IMO.

Seeing Neil Young live, the tone he got out of Old Black and his Tweed Deluxe was just phenomenal.

He is one of my favourite guitarists of all time.

Give me a Neil Young solo over any JB, Satriani, Vai etc. tosh any day.
