I have spent a good few hours getting to know the amp properly now and it is staying for a while!

Picked this up recently from Jesone. I took it straight to Chris Newman for a service (I always do this with second hand amps particularly hand wired ones) and he checked it over, changed the power valves (original Vintage GE's still included) biased it up and tidied up the speaker and reverb cables. He commented on how neat the build is and also how lovely it sounds.

1x15 Combo with an 8ohm 200w EV speaker.
Switchable between '64 Super Reverb and '64 Vibroverb modes
Heyboer and mojotone transformers
UK Voltage
Has the SRV Dumble / Diaz mods which are footswitchable.
2 footswitches one for Reverb and trem the other for boost and gain.
Amp is not heavy, I can lift it with one hand no problem and I am not particularly hench :)

Jesone purchased it directly from Jaybob at Tube-Tone in 2010 and it is signed inside by the main man. Here is a link to the website:

I will get some pics up asap but is looks like a Blackface Fender combo so close your eyes and imagine one of them in the meantime ;)

Might take amp trades but I have had quite a few so don't be upset if I say no.

Nice.  My usual thing of hunting for vids has paid off.

    No sound till about 0:54

    After that it's lush.

Second one, a bit halting, but occasionally he gets on a roll, and when he does, it sounds really nice.

3:00 onwards he drives it up a bit.  Serious kit, this amp.

    This looks interesting.

Does a Puretone entice you at all?

@Cacofonix thanks for posting the vids. Interestingly enough I haven't used the boost or gain pedal so never driven it. It has more clean headroom that I have ever had in an amp so either those vids are cranked or i need to use the boost and gain pedal haha.

No problem. I love researching amps.

I am currently clearing out a couple of nice amps due to being lifting challenged, and this ticks a box or two on the old versatility chart, so I could have been up for a trade, but the distance is a bit prohibitive.

I know, it is getting scary, I have kept a guitar for 3 years as well! I am keeping the Greco as well. Must be getting old or something.

  • Bring down the Greco sometime, compare it with mine.

  • Er. Haven't dipped in here for a while. Last time I looked you'd just bought it. So now you're selling it, keeping it? Very confused... Not that I'm interested in gear at all

Haha, i must be having a moment or something as I am keeping the Greco (apologies to those who offered the asking price) and the Tube-Tone. It's been a long time since I couldn't part with something which must be a good thing.
