Rusty Grubs Screws

On my Tele control knobs,

Which is a bit of an issue as I need to take the knobs off to tighten up the nuts holding the pots onto the control plates.

Any ideas ?

Could you heat it with a soldering iron?

I would spray some WD40 on the screws and allow it time to penetrate the threads, with a cloth covering the guitar to protect it from the spray. Use a good fitting screwdriver that is wide as the grub screw thread, and apply firm pressure on the screwdriver when you start to slowly loosen the screw. Hope this helps.

When applying firm pressure on the screwdriver, you will be holding the knob with your other hand. Make absolutely certain that the knob doesn't spin round resulting in the screwdriver flying past the knob and the firm pressure then being applied to the tip of the blade as it buries itself in your hand.

You know how I know this so don't ask .
