“We will never be a successful society in which everybody is able to achieve their potential until we have full equality for women. We will take action to remove the barriers in our society to women achieving full equality. We will tackle discrimination, sexism and violence against women and girls. We will not transform society overnight but working together we can take us further along the path to an equal society for all”.

The next Labour government, under Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership, will take decisive action against sexism, discrimination and violence against women and girls.

    .....

Absolute cancer. His policies are SJW tripe.

    You think equality is tripe?

Do you believe women do not have equal rights in our society?
Women and girls are legally protected by equality legislation in this country, so they have access to equal rights.

"Modern" society sits on top of thousands of years of male dominance and female supression.  So are we a gender equal society?  No, of course not.
Except it doesn't. It sits on top of thousands of years of male disposability and a female ponzi protection racket. Because of biology.
You should probably get out more.
    You should probably educate yourself:

I was about to recommend the same book

I was fortunate enough to spot it in a bookshop and buy a copy in 1986, and so was inoculated to much of the rhetoric now popular with SJWs

People keep bandying this image and quote around as if they have some kind of smoking gun - it's a silly masturbatory "ah ha! gotcha!" statement that has no bearing on the situation we find ourselves in. The bottom line is... it was almost a year ago, before the whole Brexit thing really took off and before the government released article 50.

Things change, plans change. Our whole world runs on changing our actions based on external stimuli and new information. It shouldn't be surprising that this can happen to governments and leaders as well.
yes, we can't really criticise a politician for doing something expedient
if anything, they should be paragons of pragmatism

The best thing for the SNP is a right-wing Tory government at Westminster with a 50+ majority in the HoC. Sturgeon will claim it's Thatcher MK2 and support for Indy2 will probably rise in Scotland. It will also do the SNP no harm come the next Scottish election to have the hated Tories in power negotiating Brexit.
That's true, but the SNP are likely to lose MPs - and probably to the Tories. That will be seized on as proof that Scotland doesn't want independence, hence allowing May to simply deny Sturgeon a referendum.

I don't think even Nicola will be able to claim a drop in the SNP vote as a good thing. They'd be much better off returning the favour and not allowing May what she wants... although it's a moot point if Labour don't since the SNP can't block it on their own.
The SNP should be glad this GE is being held before their incompetence is more widely known

I reckon we've got another 10+ years of the Tories by which time the country will be unrecognisable.
It won't be good for anyone but top earners I bet.
It seemed obvious as soon as Corbyn became leader. Incompetence, IRA support, antisemitism,  it's all there and waiting to be explored by Lynton Crosby.
Embarrassingly predictable. It's disconcerting that so many could believe otherwise

Ah, I really don't want to get dragged in, but as you seem to be suggesting (given that you're quoting me) that I'm reluctant to consider a different perspective - no, I'm not.  Not reluctant at all.  As as the other fella suggested of me, I do read, and I'm reasonably well educated.

I understand the biological arguments, and have made them myself as counterarguments to some of my more extreme feminist friends.

The problem I have with some of the arguments put forward by mens rights groups is the same as the problem I have with radical feminists.  People with limited imagination approach it as a zero sum game, like it's some kind of playground argument that goes something like "boys are better than girls, na, na, naaar!"

It's not boys vs girls.  It's just people.  To suggest that women haven't had a shit time throughout modern history is to be disingenuous.  Very recently, women and girls were seen as chattles, little more than traded possessions.  If you think that this is somehow irrelevant because of the millions of young men that died during the early part of the 20th century - again, it's playground politics.  Men aren't more important than women, women aren't more important than men, playing the blame game doesn't help the cause of equality of opportunity.

    No-one said that.

And I also note that you also never said that men have never had a shit time throughout modern history.

Read the Warren Farrell book. It's pointless even having a discussion until you do.
