New amp day! Got a D-Moll second hand, with the footswitch, for £1000. Pretty decent price, and it's basically brand new!
It sounds great. I think I'll easily be able to get the tones I want out of this thing, and maaan... it's QUIET. Even on the high-gain settings. Quieter than pretty much every other amp I've played.
The footswitch is
massive though. Didn't quite realise it was going to be that big! I may look at replacing it with either a smaller midi foot pedal, or have another look at a midi capable multi-FX and do my FX and amp switching from one unit.
(Maybe just settle on the Boss GT-100 and learn to live with the delay pitch artifacts that I've moaned about before, because in all other ways, for FX and switching only, it's the most superior unit on the block.)
Tonally, it seems quite close to the Fryette Sig X, which I was getting pangs for recently. It's got the low end grunt, and the smooth high-end, not really fizzy at all. The cleans are much nicer on this amp though; less ice picky, and the EQ seems really responsive. The mid cut circuit is very nice on all three channels too, and you could easily just leave it turned on for everything.
The channel 2+3 shared EQ thing is not an issue. On other amps I have tended to dial those channels in very similarly anyway, and just use different gain amounts, so this is really easy to get to grips with. Not as much of a knob fest or headfuck to use as the JVM I had.
Part of the reason I went for this is because I could never afford a VH4, which Adam Jones from Tool uses, and is basically the only guitar hero I have (as such) and his tone is always killer, so I always wanted a Diezel. I didn't really know about the D-Moll until RobMac made his thread about it, and that sent me off on a research journey. For the price, I had to give it a go!
Obviously it's the honeymoon period right now, but I really think I will stick with this one. Will record some clips later tonight; got a guy coming round to buy my Ironheart!

But yeah, it seems really well built. The knobs are really lovely - got a really nice twist to them, no fucking about. They feel solid, and road worthy.
The footswitch uses a stereo jack to stereo jack cable. I am rather assuming it will be possible to make a longer one, because this one is a wee bit too short.

Got no jacks right now though, so was gonna tax a cable from the studio at work for the time being - this one is too short as well!
