New Power Supply

Just taken delivery of the Vitoos DC8. Will be fitting it on my board this weekend.

If it was fed from an IEC cable rather than a separate wall-wart I'd have one of these.

The wall wart contains some sort of circuitry (in this case, a transformer that converts 240v AC to 12V DC +/- some other stuff), whereas the IEC cable is just a regular mains lead, meaning you can replace it with any other mains cable (and that whatever circuitry was in the wall wart is now safely inside the enclosure). I suspect the cable will be more durable than whatever comes with the wall wart.

Electrically, I don't know if it does.
