I hated this pedal. I mean, really, really hated it. Mainly because of the stupid POP when you turn it on.

Stupid pedal.

Dear Dan, The interesting thing is how stupidly loud that pop is and how unusable that makes the pedal. First time I ran that in a cranked amp, I thought something had exploded.

Yes, in the pedal world it seems you can essentially trace someone elses work and copyright it for yourself, then get all upset about it when another person "steals" it from you.

Not really.  It's about stupidly designed pedsls that cause your speaker to combust when you switch them on.

I hated the colour box so much. It was totally unfit to be sold as a pedal. Sure as an always on device it would work. But did you listen to the clip. That bang when they switch it on is ridiculous. 

£350 For that is insane!

Pretty irritated with this episode tbh. It's made it a lot harder for me to score a used Hudson Broadcast for a bargain price. :0)

Yeah, it's not really my thing, using a pedal to make my lovely valve amp sound like a cheap tranny, although what Mick does with it is the best I've heard it. Regarding the popping, it's weird because they turn it on and off earlier on in the vid and it doesn't pop loudly, but does at the bit you pointed out.

@dindude yes. That was also my experience with it . Fine.Fine.pop.fine.pop etc.

Drove me nuts. I assume it's a build up of some description that occasionally releases. 

To be fair, it's not just jhs. Lots of the boutique stuff does it. Yet another reason to love modelling and boss pedals I suppose.

Not an interesting episode for me, I just flicked through bits but even so still managed to hear the Colour Box pop. If it was £60 it might be fun but really £350? FFS

Never was much of a Glitter fan; now Showaddywaddy, there was a band a fella could get behind.

I thought this thread was about the JHS colourbox? But as you suggested it's definitely worth a quick bash up of how rubbish TPS has become and also how rubbish JHS pedals are. I hope they both call it a day soon and save people having to know they exist
