Building a little nano+ pedalboard to use with my Morgan PR12. Looking for a drive that will give low to medium gain, just a little hair to a Strat & Tele up to a bit of chordy crunch on the bridge pickup. I don't like the compression and stuffy mid range of a Tubescreamer and don't want a Klone, yet I also don't want something scooped like the Timmy or OCD.
I was thinking Bearfoot FX Honey Bee maybe? What would you put in there? The Morgan maybe based on a Princeton but it has quite a nice mid range and isn't scooped at all.
I'm going to get the new Polytune 3 as my tuner and the board will be powered by a Cioks DC5 bolted on underneath

underrated but sounds great (disclaimer. I have the Waza I've never tried the stock one)
I like the sound, but felt dirty using a Fender.

Don't know much about the Pork Loin, will investigate
The OCD on lower gains (8-9 o'clock) is surprisingly good (owner)

The Morgan OD sounded fantastic through a Morgan Amp but not as good through my Divided. Sold on but this is a great low gain pedal that worked very well with their amps (PR12 and AC20)
Always heard good things about the Nobels ODR-1 but that's just experienced a price hike.
With such a small board, if you can get to a shop that has a selection of pedals or even the ones you've shortlisted and an amp that's close to the PR12, just try them and that's what I do (take my board and guitar to shops and look to plug into a DRRI as good clean reference).
Just trust me.
Theres useable gain all over the dial but I use mine the way you are describing .
Pedaltrain Nano
Coiks DC5 (power)
TC Polytune II noir
Strymon Sunset
Strymon El Capistan
TC Ditto
All arrives tomorrow. I like the idea of the dual overdrive of the Sunset, I can set a light crunch and a heavier gain tone, plus, the El Capitan can serve up delay and reverb. I'm not much of a modulation user but might add a Trelicopter later if it will fit.
