Hello - any suggestions for somewhere that sells these for sensible prices (ie not 40p each) in sensible quantities (ie quite a few) without ridiculous postage?

Cheap pickup height adjustment screws tend to be prone to bending, snapping or premature stripping the Philips head slots. Get posh ones.

Yeah, but over 40p per screw? That seems to be the going rate, and it seems a little excessive.

    I agree.

I probably have some in a parts drawer that I removed from instruments because I knew that they would soon fail.

I s'pose they're skinny and long and not used for anything else.

    So... who sells good ones?

I'm disappointed.  I assumed that you'd be making your own ...

Well, at least you're disappointed, not angry.

I've used bargain P90 screws for years without issue. Anyone who snaps them is doing something seriously wrong.
Use a small screwdriver with a small grip and you can't get enough force on it to damage it.

Pilot drill your holes properly too, and use a little soap on the threads.

Anyway, back on topic. I'll probably be getting some black P90 screws added to my range in the next few weeks, if you're not in any rush.

Funnily enough I destroyed the head on one last night... I used  a small screwdriver made for the job from stew-mac and an appropriately sized pilot hole as wide as the central screw shaft,  so I thought it would be fine.  I forgot the wax on the threads. I guess that counts as seriously wrong?

The next screw went in fine once I did the wax bit.

they are a stupid screw. Usually fine in mahogany, but extra care needed in everything else.

If you're referring to my recent 50% discount, that was a week long promotion.
Mind you, good thing I didn't have it go any longer as I'm drowning under pickup orders desperately trying to keep up at the moment.
