Intrigued by these as they have a load of effects on board. Was wondering if they can do organ, flute, strings, pad, horn sounds like the gr55?

I sing Sonny Boy Williamson's 'Help Me' at a jam night and the other guitarist, who plays through  an SY-300, was vamping along to it and me and the conga player swore it sounded exactly like an amped up harmonica.

    Very impressive.

    Sort of.

    The Roland VG-99 tracks better.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

  • I think the GR55 and SY300 are totally different beasts... using totally different technologies. The GR55 gives you access to sampled sounds... the SY300 does not. If you want to make reasonably authentic brass, violin, woodwind, flute sounds etc... I don't think the SY300 is the way to go.
