White vinegar. Seems to clean anything in the known universe.

If you use lemon oil... won't that just make it a shandy?

Only if you rub too fast.

Lots of Youtube techs seem to use Ronsonol or similar.

I recently had to service an amp that had suffered a beer spill. Couldn't believe the mess inside, everything was covered in a green hairy fungus and black mould.
I did get it cleaned up but it was one very horrible job.

Count yourself lucky it was just beer, she could've thrown up on it as well.

Milk is the worst, I reckon.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

That's why I prefer gigs in pubs to gigs at primary schools ;-)

My boss told me "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"... now I'm sat in a disciplinary meeting dressed as Batman.

Yes, as mentioned lemon oil. If you use naptha then remember that it will clean everything but also strip any oil from the fretboard, so make sure you use lemon afterwards. Pretty quickly so as to avoid any drying out. Let it soak in for a few minutes.

Beer is the worst, as the sugars will corrode any circuit boards or switches in its path. Any amp that has had a pint through it can be cleaned up, but if it has a multi-layer board with SMDs, there's no way I'd warrant any repairs in case the sugars had started munching through the delicate lans etc.

If the guitar got a faceful in the pickups etc, then I'd be concerned about the effects of this on the windings etc as Beer can be corrosive.

I'd be less worried about the fretboard that just needs a wipe with any suitable cleaner and more worried about the pickups

The pickups might get a bit fizzy
