Not quite, there are sinks and showers here. We have a 3 ring stove, dab radio and a laptop with Wi-Fi and dvds

Fresh from a long day up and down Caider Idris (My new favorite mountain!) Time to relax at the tent. Shit, I'm hating this. Somebody let me go back to my horrible kids at school. This is such a drag!

We went up the pony track and down the scree arete. Is that what It's called? Was too busy trying not to die to get the map out!

Along the pony path you will have passed near the summit of Cyfrwy. The Cyfrwy arete is a rock climb along one of the ridges sticking out of the north face of the mountain.The grade is not that hard but it's 3 pitches long with a couple of tricky sections and the rock isn't always that solid. I did it last year with a guide as training for an Alps trip. Now living in Belgium I really miss the mountains of the UK. I've climbed half of the Welsh mountains above 2000ft and hope to bag the remaining 74 tops on trips home over the next few years.

Ah ok, no we left rack and ropes at the tent today as the summit was in cloud and piss wet through. Got a summit soaking but plenty of sun on the lower slopes both up and down. May go and bag some sea cliffs tomorrow if the forecast is good. 

I did see a couple of ridges I'd have been happy to scramble, but not in those conditions!

I've been lucky to have clear conditions both times I've been on Cadair but my sad obsession to tick off all the Welsh Hewitts means I had many a day bog trotting and heather bashing up obscure hills in the clag. Scrambles and climbs only in decent conditions though. 

Hope you get some good climbing weather.

I'm sitting here after work and saw your pictures and just thought: beer, mountain, Les Paul. It doesn't get any better.
