Beat me to it. Andy Rourke, Craig Gannon, and Dale Hibbert have all played bass for The Smiths.

I was gonna say ZZ Top, but then I googled it to make sure..... and there were three names mentioned in regard to a very early line up, that I'd not heard of.

From a skim of my music app, and ignoring anyone around less than 10 years as that's child's play...

The Beatles (at least once successful)
    Kings of Leon
The Killers (save for touring helpers)
    The Police
Coldplay (stop that whining at the back..)
    Green Day
Manic Street Preachers (apart from Richie, which isn't exactly their fault)
    The Strokes

@stickyfiddle Don't Green Day have a "tour helper"?

Yeah, most big bands do. But he's not on any records is he?

EDIT: Wiki says he's a full member since 2012, was on Uno/Dos/Tre, but not Reveolution Radio but still tours with them. And they also had exploding drummer syndrome up to '92, including the first album. Je me suis le confused!

But for the largest part of their career unchanged. Same with Rush.

Madness - although they do some gigs with deps.

Los Lobos - same core membership for over forty years.

They've been pretty stable for the last 40 plus years though, so I think they definitely should count. The Billy/Dusty/Frank lineup has been the one that had all the success too.

    Do Queen count?

I think everyone in the world agrees that without Freddie it's not really been Queen!

Yes - Dave Grohl didn't join until 1990. There were four other drummers before Grohl and originally there was another guitarist.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

They've had many different drummers. Chad Channing, Dale Crover, the guy from Mudhoney for a bit and then finally found stability with Dave Grohl.. They also had a second guitarist on Bleach and Pat Smear joined around the time of In Utero.

I was about to say Mastodon but they were a five piece when they started.

Rage Against The Machine had the same lineup right to the end I think.
