For all of us who understand live perofrmance and as someone personally who once co-owed a business in the music industry that specialised in live performance (well choreog), the sheer magnitude of the Manchester gig and how people managed to get it on so seemlessly is mind blowing. What an amazing effort.

The logistics, rehersal times and so on that went in must have been round the clock affairs- just watching Buckland, Martin and Grande covering Don't Look Back with such ease in a totally different arrangement shows how talented these guys are.

To put that all together in a week is mind blowing.

Wonderful effort- and again, those that slag Coldsore off need to go and see them live.

Yep just the logistics of building the stage, getting the turn-overs of bands done quickly and getting a good front of house sound alone is a major feat.

I caught bits of it, and - music taste aside - it was most impressive...in fact, I don't think I'm exaggerating when I describe it as this generation's Live Aid.

endorse that - I'm mentioned it a few times during the bits I did see - Not my scene regarding most of the acts but I agree a great professional job throughout - sorry though I still don't get Coldplay

    I agree.

I missed most of it, but Somewhere Over The Rainbow at the end was some seriously emotional stuff.

I did think the 2 boys would get back together for a couple of songs last night - Noel and Liam - at least in union of Manchester

I assume no cricket matches, especially ICC trophy matches in the next few days at OT

I agree re how smooth it was, and also (admittedly I only have the TV feed to go on) the sound quality was far and above what previous multi-line-up shows have been like (Live Aid in particular...although to give them a break that was 100 years ago).

I thought Chris Martin was particularly bad on Fix You, sorry. They may be brilliant live but if your singer can't sing for toffee I couldn't give a toss about your multi-coloured piano, your huge U2-lite soundscapes and your flashing wristbands.

Liam, on t'other hand, acquitted himself very well, I thought. I don't care for the man at all, Noel clearly was the brains and the songwriting behind Oasis, Beady Eye were shite etc etc etc but fair dos I thought Liam did the job yesterday.

Special mention to Ariana Grande herself. How she got up on that stage and put on that show under the circumstances I shall never know. Mature head on those 23 year old shoulders. More power to her.

All those "I heart MCR" banners and a no-show from My Chemical Romance, though...Bad form, lads, bad form

Actually, many years ago, someone in my family who knows I'm in to "music" bought me a Beigeplay live dvd for Xmas. I watched it. It wasn't horrendous as a technical / performance spectacle.

    The backing band were Arianna's

How on earth did they learn all the other songs so well within a week?  Madness

Great gig, I watched most of it.  Great effort all round

I hated them. Then one day I saw them

I'm not pone to jump to hasty purchases but I did go and buy a 1973 THinline soon after.

I agree about Ariana - my daughter is a big fan - I think that somehow it was easier for her to get back on stage in this format with other acts as against her usual solo gig - amongst friends etc - But she did an amazing job and you could see the emotion so many times

We watched most of it...Really impressive. The cover of Don't Look Back in Anger wasn't great, but I appreciate the sentiment!

Fair play to Liam, who has zero in common with 90% of the acts that performed, but still gave up his time to perform (as terrible as he sounded!). He's also called out Noel for no-showing...which is fair enough. Couldn't seem to put his differences aside for 20 mins to show support for his hometown? What a cunt. Unless he was otherwise engaged, in which case fair enough...but if not, my cunt comment still stands :D

Was also holding back tears when the black eyed peas were performing Where is the Love...fucking hell.

Special mention to Ariana Grande herself - having the courage and conviction to pull that off in such a short space of time was nothing short of amazing. Watching her emotion got me properly choked up...She's definitely going places....plus her voice is absolutely incredible!

Nice to see that prick Piers Morgan has eaten his words too, and apologised to Grande for calling her out last week after "fleeing" manchester and not sticking around to visit those who were injured.

I'm not sure if anyone is aware - but she's also offered to pay for the funerals of the 7 that died...What a fucking top lass.

Marcus Mumford played guitar for Pharrell Williams on Get Lucky.
That was the moment when I realised that it wasn't a straight forward affair and that some serious effort must have been put in to arrange the songs and rehearse them.
Miley Cyrus sang well, though her speeches did seem a bit too well scripted to have been ad-lib.

I belive the majority is true. I'm not sure about the Youtube thing, but I've read various reports that the rest seem to be true. Unbelievable if so. I want to marry her (but don't tell my wife)
