When someone finds out you play guitar and ask "So do you play rhythm or lead?"
Or they ask if you sing, why would you want to know if I sing as well?

    Well, they are kinda linked.
There aren't many pickups that have a high resistance and low output.

    How organic is it?
The buckle rash, tuning pegs - and the butter it plays like - are all 100% organic.

Bought from my fanouirite boutique dealer - one of the best, creamiest-sounding fiddles I've ever stuck a cord into....

A girlfriend of mine used to refer to the guitars as 'tars'.

'You could play tar' she would say.

Shame, because she had a cracking pair of pups. But I couldnt let that shit slide.

Or avoid the whole issue completely and give it the correct chord name - a minor 3rd.

As in, "you need to play the minor 3rd there.."

    Cool.
    More for my learning curve.

    Thanks guys.
    except where it's not a minor 3rd.......
That's ok, he can put a minor 3rd in every chord just in case.

    Specially on the bridge pup.

For safety he best stick with power chords and not worry about 3rds.

"Dimed". I don't even know how much a dime is, so why would I know what it means on an amp control.
Always be yourself! Unless you can be Batman, in which case always be Batman.
My boss told me "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"... now I'm sat in a disciplinary meeting dressed as Batman.

"Keeper!": (usually in US NGD threads) "I just got this and it's a keeper!" - well I'd hope so because you presumably just handed over some money for it...

That one always seemed odd to me.  I mean, 10 cents is ten percent of one dollar.  So why doesn't "dimed" mean turned to 1 on the dial?

And yet if CC Deville were to say to you: "Hey! check out my new Axe!", you'd just think he was being CC - he can't very well just say "guitar" now, can he?

Because it is an Americanism and they are more literal than that.

also anyone who names their guitars. Get a grip.

    Couldn't agree more, it's embarrassing
Yup. Don't anthropomorphise your guitars - they really don't like it.

Well, I know that the resistance can be an indicator of the number of turns comprising the pickup's coil.
But a resistance is not an output.
