White Atom Fuzz - persuade me

ricorico Frets: 1220
I've been watching some demos of the White Atom and was after some reviews from any owners on here!

Does it play nicely with say a buffered tuner, true bypass drives, boosts and delay?

I was anticipating this signal chain:

koko boost > OCD > white atom > carbon copy > HOF

Cheers!

Very cool fuzz that's very buffer friendly and doesn't really mind where you stick it.

Can it do a creamy smooth sustaining fuzz?

Amazing pedal and amazing price! Plus it does the cool Velcro type fuzz.

Erm, yeah I guess so, although your idea of creamy might be my idea of curdled.
I've been through tons of fuzz pedals and the White Atom was one of my favorites - great sound, really versatile and very pedalboard friendly (and I've got to the stage where I can't be doing with temperamental fuzz boxes with their own agenda). For the price Christian sells them at, frankly they're a bargain. Perhaps also check out the DOD Carcosa, EWS Little Fuzzy Drive (way less versatile but mighty nevertheless) and the Skreddy Lunar Module Deluxe.

Smooth is the Lunar Module, beautiful for leads but not enough grit for riffs.

check out the solar bender too, same advantages buffer/power wise but definitely does that smooth sustain thing

I've just bought a second hand Buzzer by Magnetic Effects, I know it's a different pedal but build quality is really very good. The White Atom and Solar Bender are the next to on my fuzz acquisition list. The White Atom is supposed to be very unpicky where it sits in the chain and very versatile, be interesting to see how it would stack with the koko.
