If you pay £1400 for a product that was once £1000 ish and is now well established, then you have too much money. The UK market is really going to struggle from now on if this is the case.

Massive differences in the price of a new Line 6 Helix. Why?
Also - how come Andertons and PMT have the exact same price (and nearly £400 more than another retailer)?
    Have I missed something?

Have you ever bought anything from bax-shop?

Is the feedback on Trustpilot indicative?

    Thomann is £1,051

There's been a lot of annoyance about this in the FB group as well; seems Yamaha have hiked up all UK prices for a lot of their stuff.

And yet Coda have them on special offer at £1,069, down from £1,279?  https://www.coda-music.com/specials?limit=all&manufacturer=67

    Gear4music - £1037.00

I might even get one just to try it out before they hit £2k ahahhaha.

    £400 is ridiculous.

    RIP Helix.
If we are not ashamed to think it, we should not be ashamed to say it.

This is a Yamaha issue, not a Helix issue.

Go look at the prices for Yamaha amps and other music products - there's massive differences in pricing from store to store - The Yamaha THR100H head varies from £429 to £935 and a lot of points in between!!

  • People still buy Fenders and Gibsons.

Haven't the prices been up and down a couple of times already?

I have used bax-shop for a fair bit of expensive studio gear with no problems at all.

It would be fun to see if Andertons or PMT would do a price match.

I used Bax Shop for a Mesa Boogie footswitch, and the service was good. I have the impression that Andertons and PMT pricing is not as keen as it used to be, perhaps as a result of growing larger and spending more on marketing? As always, it's worth shopping around.

I bought a multi effects case from BAX shop - was delivered promptly, price was good.

    Helix LT is the same:
    GAK £751
    Andertons / PMT £945

    ?!?!?

Andertons & PMT both previously had the very low helix prices and I suspected they would rise back to 'normal' levels, but not this much! Andertons now have the lt for almost £200 more than I bought one from them for a few weeks ago, which is a fair old chunk

Got my Helix LT from Bax - service was first rate, and the 60 day returns policy (not used) was a carrot.

I agree, Andertons seems to be a bit more expensive these days - GaK have beaten them too recently for me

When I got my Mike Stern Pacifica a couple of weeks back the guy in Yamaha Music London (formerly Chappells) said there was a hefty price hike coming for all music products.

    It's odd, £ is holding (just) against $, it's the £/€ rate that's tanked.
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

So, a likely explanation is that Yamaha have whacked up the UK prices and those retailers with the fastest stock turnover are now buying at the new prices and have passed this straight on to the punter?

In which case if you are considering a Helix it might be a good time to take the plunge before all of the other retailers increase their prices too.

Headrush, Atomic etc must also be pretty happy! AA12 at £699 suddenly looks like a bargain compared to Helix LT at £945
