It is a head though - the internal speaker is not meant for serious use - so you will need a cab of some sort, which makes it somewhat less teeny.

What about a Marshall sl5 or the 1 watt anniversary series?

Never heard anything good about the anniversary series tbh, although I wouldn't say no if I saw one cheap. SL5 is just too big for what I'm after.
The 1W Marshalls are at least OK for that.

Once my JMP is out of my living room I'll probably replace it with the likes of a THR or some sort of modelling amp so that I don't have cables everywhere from pedals.
What sort of music do you play?

Top mounted controls though.
Otherwise a Z-Vex Nano with a small 6 or 8 inch cab.

All valve, even the rectifier, chassis mounted valve holders and point to point. They even seem to come with decent valves.
Had mine for a year or so now and I still love it, despite the daft name.
