Greetings folks,
Following on from a query or two I have posted on here with regard to building a couple of guitars, I got home from work to find a cardboard-wrapped-parcel waiting for me Yay! So here it is, my New David Dyke Delivery Day (these acronyms are getting a little contrived now, arent they?).
I had a lovely chat with Mr Dyke the other day, and we decided on some timber with which I shall be building two 3/4 scale guitars from horse chestnut and one double-neck guitar from mahogany.
Here (hopefully) are a couple of imgur'd photos.

From the right we have 2 maple neck blanks for the mini guitars (I have some indian rosewood to be turned into necks for the 6+12), 5 random shaped lumps of the horse chestnut (a rather lightweight UK timber with what looks like a little spalting and some ?mineral? streaks - it will covered in a solid colour when finished) to be turned into two mini bodies, and 1 plank of african mahogany that will form the base of the double neck upon which I will use some of the rippled ash I sourced from Galgael in Glasgow.
Fingerboard material will be maple and purpleheart for the mini's and local laburnum (probably) for the double.
Pickups supplied by Oil City and tuners by Wilkinson.

Once the wood is acclimatised, I shall start work on the mini's, post a WIP and hopefully have them finished in time for Chrimbo.

Cheers,
Adam
