Promo shots for the new Joe Satriani album show him with a chrome JS....oooo, could this signal a re-issue of the chrome boy?

Along with the Swirl Universe and BFP JEM the chrome JS was right up there as my holy grail when I started getting into the instrument.

Just been reading about Joe Satriani. How the hell is he 61 years old?!

And G3 with John Petrucci and Phil Collen.  Interesting combination.

  • Black Dog was always my fave.
So much that I painted a Yamaha RGX up in a sort of tribute, I was 14 tho.

But why no UK G3 dates? Agreed about the Chromeboy :)

  • I would be surprised if it was a reissue. Those old chromeboys used to wear away pretty quickly. It's very rare to find one that hasn't changed colour or flaked.

I still want one though, ever since I saw the cover of Crystal Planet as a little kid.

  • Really need to get a JS or Radius at some point. Prob not a chromeboy though :)

  • That's a 24 fret Chromeboy, that would be a must for the local blues jam!
I'm just a Maserati in a world of Kias.

  • My mate can refinish a guitar to chromeboy finish, and no flaking too ;-)
    My trading feedback

is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

  • Mine still looks great, only being played once every 5 years may have had something to do with it's condition  :)

He was older than most when he got his big break.

  • I have a Chromeboy and Black Dog. The latter is easier to play, if for no other reason that you're less scared of the finish wearing away!!

Not sure if a new run will come out - the sustainer version seems to be the next one for release,

Roughly 30 when he recorded his first proper album Not of This Earth.

33 when he was hired by Jagger.

A lot of guys careers are finished by that point these days.
