Celestion IRs for high gain and Hiwatt

Am looking to go back to basics with IRs and have a couple of 'be all end all' IRs that I use for everything that I know will work for each application. I've heard good things about Celestions.

I'm pretty set on a V30 for my Marshall tones, but was wondering what Celestions you guys are using for Dual Rec and Mesa amps and also looking for a good Celestion speaker to use with a Hiwatt, I usually use the Redwirez Fane IR for that? 

They have a demo on their site, so will try that, but at £11 a pop, I'm not in the mood to go through a bunch of them to find the one I want.

The best Recto cab I've come across is in the York Audio BiPolar cab pack.

The Blue in the same pack pack is excellent too. Not tried the Celestion V30 IR's other than the free one although I have the Creamback and Blue packs.

From owning the real amp I'd look for Mesa V30 IRs personally for that amp.

I'm not really familiar enough with Hiwatts or Fanes so don't know what to suggest there

Thanks all for the incredibly helpful answers. I'll report back here with my findings.

@gassage that's perfect, James. I didn't know that and will give those a whirl. It's a Hiwatt DR103 based model.

In light of your other thread asking about 80s tones - have you spent much time experimenting with M magnet Greenback IRs?  I love V30s, they're my favourite speaker, but my other favourite speaker is a greenback with M magnets, and they'd work really well for 80s type tones and Marshalls etc

That's interesting. Robben Ford uses G12-65's, which is why I recently purchased that Celestion IR collection; along with V30 collection for a rockier sound.

Mate, really appreciate the advice, I'll defo try this out. Got lots to think about now :-) lots of options there too!

Curiosity got the better of me so I bagged the V30 pack from Celestion Plus too. Only tried the closed back 4x12 with Helix so far but initial signs are good... sounds like a closed back V30 loaded 4x12 with a range of microphones.
