  • I agree with a lot of the choices mentioned so far and albums by Robben Ford and Jeff Beck would be very high on my list.

    One that I don't think has been mentioned is Sometime Tuesday Morning by Johnny A., which a great album with understated guitar playing. There's a really nice version of Witchita Lineman. Below is a clip of a live version.
