Hi all,

Came across an ad on gumtree for an Epiphone Limited Edition Custom Shop Les Paul Standard. Looks like a beautiful guitar, but I can't find an awful lot about Epiphone "Custom Shop". In fact it seems there's no such thing, but just that these are a limited run.

Was just wondering if anyone's ever owned or played one, as it's a beautiful looking thing and if it plays well too then it could be a goer.

There are various limited Epiphone guitars with the custom shop sticker, there is no Epiphone custom shop really but they do usually mean that the guitar will be at the top of the Epi range.

The LP junior reissue custom shop model was fantastic and now sells for more used than it did new.

  • Just means a limited run. All the casinos with bigsbys are ‘custom shop’ for example. It adds nothing to the value.

  • Yeah Pelham Blue firebird has the same sticker. Just a limited run not actual custom shop

  • I've got an Epiphone "Les Paul Custom Pro" (pictured being held by the handsome man in my avatar there) and that's a lovely guitar.

If you get a good price on one, they are a bargain.

I have an Epi Les Paul Ltd Traditional Pro ii and it is hands down my best, and favourite, guitar. I'm under no illusions that it's worth a lot though...because badge snobs etc. I'm not bothered for that, it's a great guitar that I have no intention of selling.

Good for you, even though it is very similar to my one, I'd love one in the colour yours is.  Epi seem to have stopped selling them for some reason.

I had one of those LP Juniors it was great. Although a little on the light side.

I'd love one, I remember when they were being sold for about £125 new and just never got around to buying one (was during a period where I wasn't playing much) but had played a few in shops. They were great, really great, but weren't made for long and due to the great reviews sold fast and don't come up used very often.

Yeah my colour was a limited run apparently. Looks lovely though, as well as sounding it. Can't believe I didn't even plug it in at the jam. Was playing my SG all day lol

I've seen the odd one here and there on ebay. I've got a alert for any new les paul junior listings. I picked it up last year for £180 and sold it for nearly £300 when I bought my Gibson Les paul junior so was quite pleased.
