SOLO of the Month #31

This is the 31st SOLO of the Month (SotM) Challenge, being run by @Antique_Guitars and @TTony. 

We give you a new backing track to solo over every month. The backing track will be a maximum of 1.5mins long. 

You download the track from our soundcloud page, record your solo over the top of it and then submit it to us.

 
Challenge #31 is now open, and remains open for submissions until 24th October. 

Voting opens on the 25th of the month, and closes on the last day of the month when the winner will be announced.

I was going to say I'd try and submit something this month (it's a long time since I've entered SOTM) but at the moment I haven't got a clue what I'd play over that!

Hopefully inspiration will strike when I sit down with a guitar in hand.

Yes interesting. After a bit of random improvising, I think I've settled on a scale to use for this one. Now I need to create a bit of structure.

It's the hardest one so far for me. I'm still struggling to settle on something that hangs together.

Yeah, ideas came piecemeal for me for this one, but eventually got it to flow. Getting the tone took a bit of experimenting too, I wanted it to sound like a small acoustic instrument, can't think of the name of the native instrument. Don't know if I got it right either, we can only see

Sent mine. There was a lot more composing than improvising for this one.

Sent.  Not sure if I had an advantage but years ago I did a 3 week stint with a band from India that was here for the Commonwealth Games.   The sitar player and I hit it off and had several impromptu jams that sounded like this track.  I'm not doing anything amazing here, just dialed in a weird amp setting and went for it.

I couldn't play fast enough to keep up but what the hell, it's only one minute of your life you'll never get back - on the other hand, it has taken me ages to be this bad.

There will be a season-special competition running next month (with prizes!!) so no point saving your best entry up for next month, because it won't fit.
