Long time love for the Arion SOD-1 it has two switchable styles modern and mid hump/soft. In combination with the guitar and amp controls that cheap little box covers a lot of sonic territory and portrays a lot of classic styles.

Toss-up between Klon KTR and Crowther Hotcake.  Or for additional sensitive, plangent tones: both.

Klon first, for a subtle boost.  Then let rip with the Hotcake for more hair

  • EP Booster in front of a Chase Bliss Brothers (recently aquired).  I use the EP just to give a bit more beef to Stratty sounds.  The brothers is feckin brill btw.

... The MXR Distortion+ is still my favourite.

Amazing to me.  I had an original, I hated it.

I think the next kit I'm going to buy is a Blues Breaker.
General Guitar Gadgets is selling a pedal that's 2 blues breakers in one pedal. This sounds like a cool
    pedal .hmm

That sounds like the 'king' of pedals... ;)
What's nice about doing these kits is you can mod the heck out of them. You can always find mod ideas on line.
Right now I have a GGG Marshall Guv-nor that I really like. Also have a TS808 reissue that's been modded. A cheep Chinese klon clone that I got off of eBay.

I know a lot of people frown on the Chinese pedal thing but for a person who can't afford a King of Tone it will have to do.
Keep an eye on fuzzdog's site he should have these going live in a week or two

KoT clone with a charge pump and individual selectors for each side so either side can run at 9 or 18 volts.  I think he's got dual optical switching boards for this too judging by a pic on his Facebook feed last week.

  • JCA22H at full master volume with Bright Onion volume in the loop to bring some sanity.

SD1 for lead boost with mids, DS1 for lead boost with a bit more low end.

Loving it at bedroom and rehearsal levels. Happy chap.

None of you peasants can compete with me. I are using the Dano Transparent Overdrive (mk1) and for leads kicking in a Caline Pure Sky. You bunch of cheap skates You!! Those with my ac30 sound rocktastic.

The best drive pedal I've ever experienced so far. No idea if it'll ever get an official release or not. But I've followed it's builder and it's progress from concept to completion and he built this one for me.

Is that based on the La Vache?  (In turn based on the Les Luis IIUC).

Thought I'd try a Soul Food on a whim to see what all the Klon fuss is about. I love it. Into my jubilee set to a heavy crunch sound the SF just gives me a "more" button with added thickness and touch sensitivity. Like a tubescreamer but without the bass suck and compression. Maybe even an always on pedal now for me!

I've been settled for about a year on a Timmy for boost to light OD and a Trombetta Minibone Ge/Si for a very different lightish OD up to fuzzification.

How have you set the SF? Is it Ge or Si?
