What is it with very heavy rain and poor visibility on tight, busy urban roads at night that makes someone think "right, let's go and drive my Ford Focus ST as fast as I possibly can."

Oh aye, no doubt. I'm guilty of having "pushed it wide" on a number of favourite motorway roundabouts.

That said, testing your traction control at night, at a busy urban light-controlled pedestrian crossing in streaming wet weather, marks one out as what is known locally as a "massive knobhead".
