i got asked to make a new fretboard for a vintage gibson sg, i think it was 61, not up on sg's
He sent me a brazilian board that had already been thicknessed and tapered with inlay routes cut too deep so first thing make up rosewood inlays, i can't show pics of process because i broke my phone and everything is on there, bloody annoying to say the least
With the rosewood inlays in i was able to cut the inlay routes to a tight fit first then it's on the radius jig then i darken the boards first, they're not stained btw
Anyway after alot of hours the board was done and sent off, he was very happy and so was i
Another thing is if you age a guitar the fretboard needs doing imo or it looks wrong so i do mine this way too
