Strymon El Capistan vs Norwegian Airlines Baggage Attendant

So, after a nice gig in Norway my hold luggage, containing my pedals, was sent to another country, back to england and eventually couriered to my house.

Unfortunately the El Cap is damaged, mix knob ripped off and broken in two, thought it was fine, glued it back together and went to try it out, it now essentially has a kill dry function - permanently...

Any pedal experts know how easy it is to get a new mix knob for one of these and how easy it is to fit?

Why on earth would you put pedals in hold luggage? Having worked in travel... never do that.

Edit: appreciate that's not a helpful post for you.. sorry.

we could only afford one hold + carry on and between my pedaltrain nano in a padded case inside a plastic case padded with clothes and my strat, I chose to take the strat onboard...

  • I'd recommend posting it to Guitar aid in Putney if you have no one local. Probably a bitch to solder as all SMD.

According to this, Strymon's distributor can service their gear. Might be worth asking a quote from them.

    cool..
I was in Haugesund playing in a prog rock festival..
    indoor of course... lol..

interestingly... when we changed flight in Oslo, I saw the baggage handler goon throw my rack
and.. when I tried it out in the hotel that night it didn't work..
I had to spend the night poking around inside the Axe-FX reseating the ribbon cables that had worked lose..
got it all up and running in the end and had a great gig...

    I absolutely adore Norway...
