Interesting - read this thread last night but had nothing to contribute; went to youtube this morning and the video below was on the first line of recommended videos:

I really don't like Guns'N'Roses, at all. I like Slash's guitar playing, but that band have me reaching for the off-switch.

Another one that makes me switch off is Status Quo.

The Darkness had a bit of humour about them (their best bit being unintentional, when Justin stormed off from the Eurovision qualifiers), but only the Bee Gees can do falsetto properly.
That was actually post-Darkness, FWIW. He was on just a little (i.e. a lot!) too much coke at that point...
Or between-Darkness, as they reformed later on...?

  • Don Broco. Good at what they do by their success but I hate the singer's voice, the whole Mockney British thing is really irritating.

Why not? The above are responsible for some of the most ear-bleedingly dismal troughs of bland, soulless arse-gravy in Christendom.

....unless you're asking 'why' as in "why do/did they exist?".... that I don't know, it's a cruel world.

No, I'm asking why these bands aren't liked.
I could say I hate The Darkness, but what's the point unless I told you why I hate The Darkness.

Say you don't like something and tell people why you don't like something; It's good practise to think about the why of things.

And Bon Jovi were Okay... New Jersey Rocks (the place, probably the album too).

IMO, it's Bon Jovi over Springsteen, but Living In America was a tune, I mean; c'mon.

    Thing is, I kinda disagree.

Hating/Liking/Loving/feeling ambivalent about something is all completely subjective.

I could say I don't like GNR, and you would say "why?"

My answer could be "I don't like their lyrics as they are too cliche'd", or I could say "I simply don't like it"

You may think not. Others may think not. Others may disagree.

When it comes to art it's all opinion.

You are unlikely to find any of those in my record collection, with the exception of the self-titled Accept album, which I "won" in a local radio compettion. It's dreadful.

"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

I have an older sister and older brother close in age, my brother liked Guns N' Roses more, my sister liked Bon Jovi more.
    Nickelback had a great song or two;
I found myself playing one yesterday/Sunday.

    random.
I like this song and Hero.

I know of this song and Hero... So, out of the songs I've heard, their ratio is pretty darn good, they're 2 for 2 for me...
They also rocked a Gold Top Gibson Les Paul which always looks good anywhere, IMO; Nickelback.

You may need to change the title of this thread...

Your instructions don't include a requisite to explain your dislike. Might I suggest "Bands you don't like...and a reason that I find acceptable"

I guess the more important question is why would anyone care why I didn't like it..

    Less is more.
    Less interference is more.

You could argue, you shouldn't have to tell the people, Vs. the people who wish to just say, and not say why.

A thread shouldn't have to add bureaucracy when a freedom preserved is a freedom under scrutiny when more is asked than just who, but why?
Why is encouraged, like the freedom to judge the actions of somebody else.
