Any metalworkers here?

What's Hot
I can manage wood working (ish), but have no tools or capability for metalworking.

I'm trying to find something like this, for a  pair of Precision bass pickups

Google found me the image, originally from the US allparts site, but it's not in the current catalogue, so I can't even source from the US.

Anyone able to help with suggestions?

I believe  David Dyke  sells them, they are made by ABM, not sure if they are still available though.  I'm going to DD's tomorrow I'll have a look for you .

You should have taken the Mahogany P-Bass  with the Bur Maple cap I showed you, as that come with a pair of those,  as they are the last pair I have I can't help you with them .

    If DD has them, then yes, please  grab me a pair @GSPBASSES ;
    :)

That  other body looked beautiful - it was just you describing it as "heavy" that put me off.  But you should put it up here and let @Bridgehouse talk you into selling it ...

This is the beautiful P-Bass, but it is a bit heavy.

    Two thoughts spring to mind:

    "Wow. That's amazing!"

    "Ooooh me lumbago!"

@TTony if you had an accurate dimensioned drawing/model, that's easily doable.
    I'm assuming it's just aluminium?

I guess aluminium would be fine - it's not bearing any stresses, just covering the pickup cavity.

@M_C - are you talking hypothetically, or are you skilled at such things?

Would be pretty easy to get one drawn up, water cut and drilled out. If you get really stuck let me know and I can help.

Somewhat skilled. My side business involves creating masses of aluminium swarf, using various bits of CNC and manual metal nibbling machines.

Alternatively if you've not got a drawing, but have a plastic equivalent, I've got a digitiser, so can get a drawing that way.
