    You never know...

    There was a 68 les paul goldtop on gumtree a couple of weeks ago - too good to be true. 
    The guy never returned my email. 
    Got a call yesterday saying it was a probate sale and apologies for the late response. 
    He was heading into northern guitars to see if they would agree to give him four grand! 
    If they didn't buy it he'd call me.
    Needless to say it was sold :-)

    I have no issue with either guitar in terms of authenticity. None at all from those pics.

    Now, does anyone have a link to a human trafficking site where I can sell Alistair?

    Yep!

    @robinbowes

    The guy had an old sg and a 68 les paul goldtop.

    He had a friend list it on gumtree, as he was a technophobe, and she didnt him any of the contacts requests or questions. 

    He phoned me Friday morning on his way to northern guitars, basically saying he didn't
     think they'd buy both and if I wanted it he'd give me a shout afterwards.


    If anyone gets the chance to pop in I'd love to know how much it's now up for sale for!

    The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.
