  • this bombed (believe it or not), voted the third worse video of all time by MTV (behind the Darkness's I Believe In A Thing Called Love and Guns N' Roses' Estranged *citation needed).

Eddie Murpy?   Actor maybe, film star even but not a Thespian.

    Two thespians who can sing:

Ewan McGregor - sounded very good in Moulin Rouge
Eddie Redmayne - superb in Les Mis, sounded pro level

Marilyn Monroe could really sing too. I’ve got the ‘Essential Recordings’ album and she was actually genuinely good.

Surprised no-one's mentioned the fantastic recent get-em-for-Christmas albums from Alexander Armstrong, Bradley Walsh, Jason Manford and, er, Nick Knowles.  Probably now available for 50p if the sales are still going.

On a slightly more serious note, Hugh Laurie has done a couple of blues albums which I understand are considered OK, although I find them fairly unlistenable.

And there's Jared Leto in Thirty Seconds to Mars.

  • Huge Action can sing really well.

    Benedict Cummerbund less well.

Weird isn't it. It's not like most of these people will have been massive show-offs from a very young age, or had singing and dancing training at stage school etc.
