I'm sitting at my desk with a thick head, blocked sinuses, a splitting headache and an evil smokers-style cough.  Occasional dizzy spells with blocked up ears too.   I feel like shit.  No problem, it'll pass in a couple of days.

Will it fuck.  Today is the start of week 3 as this started on Christmas Day.  I want to be normal again.  I want to be able to do things normal people do.

Sick day?

It wasn't flu but my whole body packed in yesterday. Sore all over and was sick 2am the previous night. Ate 3 bits of toast the whole day. I'm now back to my slender self after eating too much trying to put weight on. I'm just going to accept my body is what it is. Some people would kill for my slender frame

I got the flu a couple weeks ago, gave it to my wife, I got over it myself, but last weekend she's given it back to me again.

you  also showing some of the symptoms of Secondary Stage Syphilis:

* a blotchy red rash that can appear anywhere on the body, but often develops on the palms of the hands or soles of the feet

* small skin growths (similar to genital warts) – on women these often appear on the vulva and for both men and women they may appear around the anus

* white patches in the mouth

* flu-like symptoms, such as tiredness, headaches, joint pains and a high temperature (fever)

* swollen glands

My dad saw a specialist last week who told him he has a disease of the nerve endings at the base of the spine and genuinely gave him this 'good' news:

 "the disease can be a by-product of aids, syphilis, lyme disease or diabetes, your first test has come back and the good news is you do not have diabetes."

I can easily discount syphilis as I haven't met the necessary criteria for a little while now........

I was too ill to overindulge in all honesty.  I just didn't feel like eating or drinking, so, no. 

I had a couple of glasses of wine on Friday evening and felt shockingly hungover on Saturday morning so abstinence is the word............

If you made it to work then it ain't flu, however there are plenty of shit viruses going around so you have my sympathies. I've also had one since Christmas day and its the gift that keeps on giving..... I lit the beacon and set the radio on the emergency channel just in case though.
