Pickup Magnet Strength Question

Hi folks

i understand and can hear the differences between the difference types of Alnico, well 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s anyway, but I was wondering, can say two sets of A2 magnets from different sources be of different strength and is there a way to tell without acquiring a gauss meter?

As a supplementary question, do folks have a preferred supplier in the UK? I have been using Cermag to support my experimentation at pretty low cost and their magnets seem fine but I don't know if there may be better ones available.

I think the strength of magnets can vary yes. Seymour Duncan used weaker mags in his Antiquities.

I use Cermag too and find them to be good. I believe he also supplies magnets to Wizz pickups and they are excellent pickups, so I'm happy to keep going back there.
