I’ve seen sets go from £150 to £300, seems to be a case of how keen you are to sell and what they owe you. Those prices are completed listings from eBay, so they do seem to vary a lot

The problem is - what do they sound like? 50s, 60s, high output, low output, middy, glassy?  Without the spec she wound to, its pot luck for the buyer.

  • To be fair, Ive seen them go for up to £600

  • I was offered £600 for a set of Custom 65s hand wound by her, but they are very rare pickups

Rare or not I would have sold them at that.
You can buy a car for £600
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I sold a set on ebay. A set wound by Abby in 2010 taken from my 62' cs strat, the pups were 60's handwounds. They sold for £550. I didnt think I'd get more than £300.

If someone offers you £600 for them, take the money and run. You can replace them for a lot cheaper with something equally as good, if not nicer.

are they signed 'abby' or signed 'AB' -

'abby' are wound personally by her and these are the more desirable version
'ab' are wound by other staff under Abby's watchful eye - almost like an apprenticeship

Apparently it's her sweat and dead skin cells that make all the difference to the sound.
    Literally, her DNA.

  • With these ludicrously overinflated prices, surely by now a significant proportion of Abby pickups must be fake? Any standard vintage-type Strat pickup with the addition of a forged signature would do it.

I had some fat 50's and sold them for £300. They were ok but nothing special. Brought some mojo 60's and they are superb!

I now have the mojo 60's set in my cs strat also. They are fantastic. Marc sure knows how to wind a pickup.
