So I drove a Train today....

So as many know I'm now on gardening leave (resettlement as we call it) to normalise into being a civilian, its been a long time coming and now I am looking forward to moving forward with the 1000 things I want to do for Thorpyfx. However on my penultimate day in uniform:

I got to drive a freaking train, so stoked to have done this. I love big vehicles so this was definitely one of those things that I wanted to do:

anyway, highly recommended, and the guys who normally do it seemed to enjoy their working life so much.... pretty ace if you ask me.

I have achieved non of these.

Last Friday I got to drive a Fendt tractor for 20 miles, really enjoyed slowing traffic and looking down at people!

Cool.  You want to get a go on a steam train.  I did that on Festiniog once.

I once sat in the cab of a giant Canadian railway loco and was allowed to rev the engine... not to actually move the train though! Even at that, feeling the power of it from the noise and vibration was tremendous.

Actually driving one wins, even if it’s smaller .

In my teens I wanted to be a short haul pilot, hopping from one European city to the next!

And I don’t know really...I used to be into flight simulation and always preferred the A320 to the 737!
