Remember to turn the lights out when you’re done. :)

Apparently it weighed about 500kg and was as easy to play as a Chibson..

What actually is it? My reading of the headstock is  Spechinmaxio - but I’m guessing I’m wrong...

It was something a guy at the show had that he’d built and was looking for makers..

Lighter and more playable than a real Gibson, then?

    :)

I've always thought these would be amazingly cool if they had an LED under every fret/string position and tracked your playing. I think you could get a guitar with that sort of thing as a teaching tool at one time, but it worked the other way round.

Tracking was close but not perfect - it got brighter as you went up the board...

Was his "Cupids Dead" rendition up to speed?!? Surely those LEDs showed which note to play and when!

Sadly it wasn’t plugged in, so we didn’t know how good the output was.

    Looked pretty though.

I would have loved a go on that guitar. Not quite convinced it would work well in a rootsy country band. Though it would be perfect for use in a Showband...

  • I'm afraid I'm the creator and inventor of this "Spectrumaxe" guitar. Sure it's heavy, but this was just a prototype I'd built to take to the show and I hadn't fully set it up or adjusted it yet, so its a bit of a stinker to play right now. If you'd like to know more about it and the other LED guitars I've built, please check out my website at: www.spectrumaxe.com
