Pitch correction shootout on vocals - Melodyne, Autotune, Revoice vs Raw

Discussion in another thread reminded me about this shootout I found.  Might be of interest to some people to see if they have a preference when the files are blind.

My favourite turned out to be the original.

Revoice was a close second. The effect in other two is obvious.

Never listened to anything like this before. Interesting how versions 2 and 3 had the "life" sucked out of them. My preference was for the original vocal.

The different treatments of the word 'easy' are interesting.

Example 2 corrects the last note of that word to completely the wrong pitch! And there is some flattening in the middle of that word that is only corrected in example 4.

If it's been done using manual mode then presumably this is actually down to the producer's use of the tools. Not sure that really makes it a very fair comparison.

Yeah the guy did it manually, so there will be some taste decisions being made.

My guess is he's more familiar with using some of them than others.

What's interesting though is they do affect the tone in slightly different ways - the high end of the Melodyne clip sounds less airy to me.
