Fret end file substitute

I made an interesting discovery the other day...

I usually use this Japanese fret end file.. I really like it, works really well.

BUT cos they are so small im always misplacing them...  The other day I had lost it again and was doing some fret end work so I was looking about the room I work in which is actually at my parents house and found something that actually worked really well as a fret end file..  A bog standard nail file

I was in a pharmacy the other days and indeed they have fine medium and course files.. The one I used I think was a medium but im now tempted to get a set and try more out

Some micro mesh kits come with one

I used some for fret ends the other day. The super-fine buffing ones are great for polishing frets.
