I did that the other week on a pricey guitar, got over it after a few days, it had to happen sooner or later!

I also felt a bit sick, and came out in a sweat for 5 mins, I was so annoyed. This is probably revealing way too much of my psychological make up

I have two expensive guitars:

One I bought brand new - I’m terrified of dinging it.

The other I bought used with a couple of dings. Those dings really piss me off because they’re not “my dings.” 

So, you can’t win.

Done exactly the same, although on something less intrinsically valuable.

I sold the guitar within a fortnight, essentially to separate myself physically from the shame of bruising such a gorgeous instrument through sheer stupidity on my part.

That was a mistake, and a huge over reaction on my part.

Timmy - chill.
Got my lovely JOM few weeks later sitting by the back porch door in the sun - stood up and the handle caught the upper side of the lower boute and left a 3 inch long indentation in the side - my heat sank - checked for 'cracks' all ok. I there after got on with playing and enjoy having and playing it.

I couldn't immediately tell if it was cracked or just finish dented - I put it straight back in the case and daren't look now lol
