Pod HD500X expression pedal repair - SORTED

Hi all,

the expression pedal on my hd500x floorboard has gone. Tried resetting it, recalibrating it, you name it - zero joy.

Anyone got any advice RE repairing these things? I have had a quick google and can only find one UK based service centre.

any ideas appreciated!

    Can you use an external one?
    Might be a cheaper fix if a little impractical
    The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

    I was hoping it wouldnt come to that, but I could.

    i have found a few potential ‘fixes’ that i’ll try later on today, failing that i’ll price up either repair or an external pedal

    And i have fixed it!

    By taking the unit apart, unmounting the expression pedal board, giving the sensor a quick wipe and putting it back together.

    Honestly...

    mods, happy for this to be closed as the issue has been resolved
